Generally in the past, I have taken a look at all the information given on what the Maths Assessment involves and then taught topic areas that my student may not be so familiar with. 

We go through timed similar past practice Assessments and work not just on the mathematical content involved but also technique and strategies with the questions.

Time pressure is usually very prominent in these Assessments so that will be a big focus in our lessons.
