School Entrance Exams (Maths and Non Verbal)
My Primary Focus
-
Prepare my student to score well on the Entrance Exam primarily through past paper practice and working on weaker areas.
-
Following the National Curriculum to ensure every child is at the expected level or higher for their year group.
Experience in this area
-
In the past 5 years, I have taught a large number of children taking the 11+ and School Entrance Exams in Oxford, London and Online; seeing many differences in terms of ability, confidence, interests and needs.
-
All of these children have got into their respective schools.
Different Approaches for those ...
Struggling with Maths
-
My main aim is to catch up with the expected level for their year group by building a solid foundation of mental maths and problem solving skills. Then using a large number of past papers to prepare for the test.
-
If low confidence in Maths and disliking Maths are issues too, then I would really like to work on those as well. Generally by keeping the learning process fun and giving a lot of positive feedback and encouragement.
With a few weak topics
-
My main aim is to clear up any weak areas of Maths and then move on to cover a large number of past papers.
-
Ensuring your child becomes more confident and comfortable with Maths and rise to the top of their class.

Excelling in Maths
-
My main aim is to keep pushing your child's interest and understanding in Maths and improving problem solving skills.
-
I use a large number of past exam papers to assess progress and ensure your child scores well in the real thing.
-
I would also be able to help with taking exams early.
